Set Up:
12-15 players set up in the attacking third, playing 4v2 inside the central grid, and 2v2 inside of the penalty area. Two flank players start at the cones. The attackers in the grid maintain possession versus the two defenders. When the defenders win the ball, they get a free pass out to either flank player. The flank player then plays the ball up to an attacker making an inside out run from the penalty area. Play continues 4v2 from there. Upon completion, The Feeder restarts play inside of the grid, and the flank players return to the cones. The players rotate to all of the positions during the drill.
Coaching Points:
1. Anticipate a change of possession and start moving before your opponent does.
2. Pull the defender out of the center by making a run out to the flank.
3. Look to change the ball from one flank to the other when the defense moves to the ball.
Progressions:
1. A defender crosses over with the pass, creating a 4v3.
