Set Up:
There are 16 players set up in the attacking third, with a 1v1 in the penalty area and flank players starting at the cones. The flank attacker begins play with a dribbling run down the line. The defender releases from the cone with his first touch to create a 1v1. The attacker can cross or dribble into the penalty area for a finish on goal. If the defenders win the ball, they can score in the two small goals placed outside of the penalty area. Upon completion, play re-starts with the attacker and defender on the opposite flank. New players rotate into the penalty area after 5 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. Get your body between the defender and the ball after you dribble past him.
2. Use changes of speed and direction with the dribble to create enough room to cross.
3. Start the finishing run when the dribbler has taken his last touch before crossing.
Progressions:
1. Play 2v2 in the penalty area.
